The Makerspace inhabits the lower level of our shop in Whipple Place on the Lebanon Mall. It's a community work space and education center for makers of all sorts. It's the primary location where we host our classes and workshops. It's also a space where people can work on their various projects.
How can I access the Makerspace?
The Makerspace is available for use in a few different ways.
The Sewing Bar:
Carvey design & work station:
Design station featuring Easel®, a free web application that works seamlessly with Carvey. Design in 2D and view in 3D, instantly. Create a design from scratch, import an existing design you've made, or get started quickly from our library of projects that other Easel users have created and shared.
Easel runs in the browser and connects to Carvey with USB. If you already have a favorite carving software, Carvey will work with that too.
The makerspace provides work tables and dedicated space for makers. Work in a creative, social environment where you have the opportunity to interact with, and learn from your fellow makers, as well as receive support from Scratch staff.
We greatly appreciate the community enthusiasm and support surrounding the Makerspace. Learn more about the phase 2 expansion, and what's coming soon!
* The Makerspace is available for use anytime during our regular hours. Please check our calendar of events to see when the space is being used for a class.
